Responsibilities*
The Youth & Adult Programs Coordinator (YAP Coordinator) is responsible for assisting in the implementation of all practices that aid in the successful execution of SMTD's Youth & Adult Programs as part of SMTD's Office of Engagement & Outreach. Such responsibilities include application maintenance, production support and planning, serving as "staff on duty" at YAP program events, and more as assigned. YAP Coordinator reports directly to the Senior Youth & Adult Programs Manager.
Further information on specific job responsibilities below:
- Assist in production aspects of Youth & Adult Program events as decided upon in collaboration with the Senior Youth & Adult Programs Manager (e.g. MYE rehearsals, adult program concerts, auditions, participant check ins).
- Communication with library
- Concert set up
- Assist in preparation of external correspondence for Youth & Adult Programs
- Participation handbooks
- Weekly correspondence (e.g. newsletters rehearsal emails, concert information, etc.)
- Assist with promotional planning for all Youth & Adult programming
- Ad placement and design
- Promotional outlet research
- YAP programming social media presence
- Assist Program Registrar with monitoring applications for all YAP programming:
- Payment reminders
- Application deadline reminders
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications*
- A Bachelor's Degree and at least one year of office experience, or equivalent work experience in an office setting. Familiarity with the arts industry is helpful.
- Must have exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver high quality customer service.
- Have the ability to successfully manage multiple tasks within established and changing deadlines.
- Demonstrate accuracy with attention to detail and follow-through.
- Meet deadlines through excellent time-management and multi-tasking skills.
- Work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a dedicated team.
- Proficiency in Mac, and Google cloud based environment and use of programs including Microsoft Office Suite, Social Media, Relational Databases, Google and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities.
- Be punctual and reliable as a team member.
- Have the ability to work occasional evenings and weekends.
