Job Summary
The School of Information is looking for a UX Researcher and Analyst to support study coordination activities in collaboration with the School of Public Health and Michigan Department of Health and Human Services. The University is providing public health data analysis, visualization platforms, and modeling for use by the public and local public health officials. These projects support vaccine outreach and education efforts and tracking the extent and effect of COVID-19 in Michigan. Continued support of these projects will require a substantial amount of research and coordination.
Reporting to the leads of Michigan Public Health Integrated Center for Outbreak Analytics and Modeling (MICOM), you will design and conduct research projects such as qualitative interviews, surveys and coding systems for evaluating mixed methods research. You will record research procedures and inclusion of subjects to inform public health needs.
As the UX Researcher and Analyst, you will have a mixed methods research background, an interest in public health, experience communicating with multiple partners, and will enjoy working on a collaborative team. There is potential within this role to provide guidance with research personnel and interns/part-time individuals.
Responsibilities*
- Manage research grants by documenting meetings, tracking project timelines, and monitoring progress towards grant milestones.
- Help identify challenges or obstacles affecting research progress and help implement solutions.
- Conduct literature reviews, support manuscript preparation, and assist with data analysis and interpretation.
- Provide support to faculty and the grants administration team during grant proposal submissions and the preparation of annual progress reports.
Required Qualifications*
- Master's degree in health information or a relevant field.
- 3 to 5 years experience in a related field.
- Background in psychology required.
- Experience working remotely in collaboration with multiple researchers.
- Experience working with multiple tasks and demonstrated ability to prioritize.
Work Schedule
Punctual and availability during most Eastern Standard Time business hours is required. May require working during non-business hours and on weekends.
Modes of Work
Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Work agreements are reviewed annually at a minimum and are subject to change at any time, and for any reason, throughout the course of employment. Learn more about the work modes.
Underfill Statement
This position may be underfilled at a lower classification depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate. The minimum starting salary at the Intermediate level is $70,000. At the Associate level, the minimum starting salary is $65,000. The final salary will be based on several factors, such as your experience for the position.
Additional Information
You must be eligible to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available for this position. In addition, while remote work is allowable for this position, all work must be performed within the United States and its territories.
This is a two-year term-limited position.
