Duties

Official Title: Supervisory Information Technology Specialist (AI)
Duties Include:

  1. Directs and controls the overall planning, direction, and execution of resources related to Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology solutions.
  2. Plans, executes, tracks, monitors, and evaluates AI projects funded from various budget sources.
  3. Gathers, consolidates, and presents information describing IT technical needs for the acquisition and implementation of AI tools, software, and infrastructure.
  4. Identifies AI technical needs and recommends solutions through service, software, and equipment acquisition.
  5. Forecasts long-term AI requirements and collaborates with DHHS and vendor communities to engineer future products.
  6. Formulates IT policies and procedures for AI implementation and interprets plans and guidance from senior agency officials.
  7. Coordinates AI technology solutions architecture to meet DHHS Department initiatives and OMB requirements.
  8. Advises agency staff and federal counterparts on AI application development, system capabilities, and program modifications.
  9. Conducts independent AI research and stays updated with emerging technologies to optimize agency business systems.
  10. Provides technical advice, leadership, and direction on systems analysis and design-related issues for customer benefit.
