Summary

This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Office of Security, Facilities and Logistics Operations (OSFLO), Facilities & Logistics Management Group, in the Division of Logistics & Commuter Services.

As a Inventory Management Specialist, GS-2010-13, you will review, analyze, and provide advice and recommendations in the planning, development and implementation of the Agency's personal inventory program.

Duties

  • Implements policies and procedures applicable to the CMS assets, inventory, material, and equipment control and management.
  • Analyzes data and develops recommendations for improvements, new techniques, and alternate methods for program enhancements.
  • Plans, organizes, controls, integrates, and evaluates the work of personal Inventory programs by ensuring operations are in compliance with federal, state, and local statutes, rules, and regulations.
  • Analyzes information to determine retention or repair needs for disposal actions of used assets, materials, supplies, inventory and equipment.
  • Monitors contractor compliance for all objectives and identifies and corrects contract problems.

In order to qualify for the GS-13, you must meet the following: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include:
1) Providing oversight of an inventory management program to ensure compliance with policies and procedures; and
2) Implementing new processes and policies to streamline or automate property operations; and
3) Utilizing information technology systems to manage and report personal property data; and
4) Communicating new property inventory management policy or procedures to customers and leadership in written or oral formats.



Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
