Who We Are:

The Strategic Aerospace Department (SAD) provides aerospace related research, development, production, test and/or support to new products, sustainment, and modernization programs for the DoD industry, Allies, and U.S. Government.

Objectives of this Role:
  • Support the design, analysis, documentation, verification, and testing of aerospace/avionics hardware and software (including FPGA development).
  • Participate in the full life cycle design (from concept to hardware) for airborne and ground support systems electronics in high reliability avionics systems.
  • Participate on project teams developing, integrating and testing within complex embedded avionics environment.
  • Work effectively with a diverse team of engineers to develop a detailed list of requirements and to ensure that the designs meet those requirements as well as participating in design reviews as needed.
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:
  • Perform engineering functions that include design, develop, test, and support complex embedded avionics for new, sustainment and modernization programs.
  • Interface with engineers and leads to translate their requirements into operational designs and validate those designs through simulation and test activities.
  • Support integration and testing of embedded avionic systems.
  • Participate in design reviews as needed, including both internal (peer) reviews and external (customer) reviews.
  • Provide necessary documentation to satisfy customer requirements. For many programs, this will include the documentation necessary to satisfy QA requirements.
Requirements:
  • Requires a Bachelors degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent Engineering degree with related experience.
  • 2 - 8 years: Experience developing, deriving, allocating and testing complex avionics requirements. Experience implementing RTOS's (preferred Green Hills, VxWorks)
  • 2 - 8 years: Experience in the embedded development of typical avionic buses (PCIe, 429, ethernet, 1553, etc), C++ and C.
  • 2 - 8 years: Experience with integrating hardware and debugging within a lab environment utilizing equipment such as logic analyzers, power supplies, etc.
  • A valid/clear driver's license is required.
