General Manager

The Board of Directors of McCook Public Power District (MPPD) is seeking qualified candidates for the position of General Manager.

Leadership Proficiencies:
• Demonstrates the ability to work effectively with the Board of Directors in areas such as: preparation for an effective board meeting; and willingness and ability to take direction and achieve the results as required by the Board.
• Ability to coordinate necessary efforts to achieve the results of MPPD's Strategic Plan, annual budget, construction work plan, Board Policies, safety goals, and other plans/directives for positive results and success for the District.
• Provide leadership that motivates the employees and creates a positive work environment and safety for all employees.
• Ability to establish meaningful relationships that will benefit MPPD and the communities in which MPPD serves.
• Must exhibit at all times characteristics of honesty, reliability, loyalty, integrity, and fairness.

Experience:

• Expected to have ten years of electric utility experience with at least five years in a manager/supervisory role. The board seeks candidates with experience in areas such as electric operations, finance, customer service, and community involvement.
• Prefer undergraduate degree in a related field.

About MPPD:

• McCook Public Power District headquarters is located in McCook, Nebraska. The District employs 24 employees and has a six person Board of Directors. MPPD services six counties (Frontier, Red Willow, Hayes, Lincoln, Hitchcock, and Gosper), serving approximately 5,000 meters and over 2,600 miles of line. MPPD's annual revenue is approximately $18 million.
