With each passing minute, threats are evolving across the horizon. Now more than ever the Sailors and Marines of our Integrated Naval Force need to know they are protected so they can perform their critical missions. Enter, the Ship Self Defense System (SSDS).
With the Latest Software Upgrades, Warships Will Remain Ahead of Continuously Evolving Threats
SSDS Baseline 12 ensures that aircraft carriers and amphibious warships remain safely ahead of continually evolving threats, such as anti-ship cruise missiles, aircraft, and unmanned aerial vehicles. SSDS Baseline 12:
Integrates a new solid-state radar for improved air defense
* Advances anti-ship cruise missile weapon control by integrating the latest version of Evolved Sea Sparrow Missile (ESSM) - Block 2
* Integrates the Surface Electronic Warfare Improvement Program (SEWIP) Block 3 electronic warfare system, and
* Adds significant cyber defense capabilities
Lockheed Martin recently became the Combat System Engineering Agent (CSEA) for the SSDS program and developed this crucial capability to protect U.S. Navy Aircraft Carriers and Amphibious Warships in record time.

WHO YOU ARE
The ideal candidate is Responsible for the Ship Self Defense System (SSDS) MK2 and MK6 Integrated Combat System (ICS) System Level and equipment technical documentation in support of baselines installed onboard US Navy ships and at shore facilities.
Author, integrate, assemble, and maintain System Level and equipment technical content into data modules in an S1000D format IAW business rules and other guidelines approved by the government.
Provide technical engineering support for review/validation/comment of technical documentation such as technical drawings, Ship Change Documents (SCDs), Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), Field Change Bulletins (FCB), system and equipment technical manuals, Fleet Advisory Messages (FAMs), Technical Information Bulletin (TIBs), Allowance Parts Lists (APLs), Spares Listings.
Prepare documentation packages and perform Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) delivery of technical documentation (including Technical Manuals, Quick Reference Guides (QRGs), Allowance Parts Lists (APLs), etc.) IAW requirements listed in ILS Certification in support of SSDS MK2 and MK6 Integrated Combat System (ICS) Ship Change Document (SCD) installations and upgrades

Basic Qualifications:
* Demonstrated knowledge of the SSDS System Level and equipment configurations.

* Experience in eXtensible Markup Language (XML) development, knowledge of S1000D Specification, and experience in development of military technical manuals electronically or manually.

* In-depth understanding of maintenance techniques and their practical applications to problems and situations ordinarily encountered, with demonstrated experience in the ability to interpret drawings, wiring diagrams and plans.

* Considerable knowledge of equipment and/or systems software related to defense industry products and standards; experience in development of military technical manuals electronically or manually.
Desired Skills:
* Knowledge of the Model-Based Product Support (MBPS) Windchill application as used to perform Technical Manual Maintenance Activity (TMMA) process.

* Experience with Arbortext and using Contenta Content Management System (CMS).

* Experience with XML tagging to the S1000D Specification.

* Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

* Self-starter with the ability to work alone and with a team.

* Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.

* Ability to travel.
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: Non- standard 40 hour work week as assigned by leader
