SHIFT:
Day (United States of America)Bioinformatics Engineer I - Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (Philadelphia, PA):
Support computational environments focused on the management, transfer, formatting, and general processing of complex data types associated with genomics and proteomics. Duties include: develop large-scale bioinformatics pipelines with NGS data such as Whole Genome Re-sequencing, Whole Exome Sequencing, and Small RNA analysis; facilitate the efficient transfer of bioinformatics data from data sources to data users, with benchmarking and data quality checks, and troubleshoot data quality issues or discrepancies; implement bioinformatics processing, storage, and the manipulation of bioinformatics data in a cloud environment; evolve processes for effectively using large-scale, cloud-based, bioinformatics storage frameworks; identify and test application/pipeline defects and fixes; work with the technical team to establish and maintain appropriate levels of availability, response time, and bioinformatics software and systems performance; and execute development testing for commonly used applications such as data processing pipelines.
Requires a Bachelor's degree in a natural science or computational discipline and 1 year of experience with computational skills including deep learning, ensemble learning, machine learning, distributed computing, and automation pipeline development, as well as experience with programs including SQL, Sklearn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Docker.
