In-Vitro Senior Scientist, Oncology Bioscience

Location: Waltham, MA

About the Opportunity:

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Scientist with deep scientific and technical expertise in oncology research to join our Oncology R&D team. This individual will play a crucial role in advancing oncology projects through the drug discovery and development process. Your expertise in tumor biology/immunology will be key to establishing assay systems and delivering high-quality datasets that directly impact targeted therapeutic strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, conduct, and analyze in vitro experiments to assess the efficacy of candidate oncology drugs.
  • Contribute to the discovery and development of novel combination therapies and innovative platforms (e.g. tumor/effector T cell co-culture) to evaluate drug activities.
  • Review emerging literature and internal data to identify potential new targets and support target validation activities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams of scientists to ensure efficient project progression and data delivery.
  • Communicate findings clearly and comprehensively, with a strong understanding of their implications within the broader drug discovery process.

Basic Qualifications:

  • MS with 5+ years or PhD with 2+ years of experience in Biology, Oncology, Tumor Immunology, or a related scientific field.
  • 3+ years of experience in industry or academia running and/or overseeing in vitro studies of human tumor cell function (e.g., cell culture, cell signaling bioassays, high-content imaging, cell death assays in primary and cell line cultures).
  • Strong background in anti-cancer targeted therapies with a deep understanding of solid tumor models.
  • Expertise in molecular biology techniques, including intracellular signaling analysis, engineered cell line generation, and transcriptomic data analysis.
  • Strong data reporting skills with an emphasis on clarity and interpretation within the drug discovery context.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in drug discovery programs.
  • 1+ years of experience in tumor immunology drug research and discovery.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, with a track record of problem-solving and effective teamwork in a collaborative environment.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $105,000 to $158,000. However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition, our positions offer a short-term incentive bonus opportunity; eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program (salaried roles) or to receive a retirement contribution (hourly roles). Benefits offered included a qualified retirement program [401(k) plan]; paid vacation and holidays; paid leaves; and, health benefits including medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans. Additional details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
