The Role
AXS is seeking an experienced and strategic VP, Business Development, to join our team in Los Angeles, CA. In this role you will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and negotiating new business development and growth opportunities across all areas of business. You will identify and develop optimal revenue models, sales/distribution channels, pricing, and new product development strategies. You will identify and negotiate strategic partnerships, including financial arrangements, sponsorship assets, dynamic pricing and secondary ticketing models. You will have a holistic view of the live entertainment landscape and are viewed as a thought leader and rainmaker in the space. You will assist with vetting acquisition targets, launching new products, and developing internal human talent. The ideal professional will have deep relationships and an impeccable reputation with ticketing decision makers at Stadiums, Arenas, Sports Teams, Festivals, Theatres, and Clubs across North America.
What Will You Do?
• Contribute to the design and implementation of processes and initiatives to optimize business growth and brand marketing effectiveness.
• Lead efforts to drive growth and profitability by developing and implementing strategic initiatives that align with business objectives.
• Develop strategies to differentiate AXS from its competition, ensuring that value proposition resonates with target markets and potential clients.
• Partner closely with the North American Venues team to align business development efforts with overall organizational goals and objectives.
• Craft a compelling vision for company position in the marketplace, identifying opportunities for growth and expansion into new markets.
• Conduct comprehensive market research, customer analysis, and competitive assessments to inform strategic decision-making and prioritize growth initiatives.
• Lead negotiation efforts with potential partners, driving deals to closure while ensuring favorable terms for AXS.
• Proactively identify and evaluate new business development and marketing growth opportunities across various selling functions and market segments.
• Develop and design optimal revenue models, pricing strategies, and sales/distribution channels to maximize revenue potential and market penetration.
• May manage one or more employees directly or indirectly
• Present to the Executive team and C-suite from time to time
What Will You Bring?
• 10+ years of experience in Business Development/Sales in Ticketing and/or Live Entertainment
• 5+ years of experience in leadership and coaching
• Extensive experience in Business Development leadership
• Expertise in identifying opportunities, developing strategies, and negotiating creative solutions
• Proficient in strategic analysis to drive growth initiatives
• Adept at business intelligence
• Adept at collaboration and teamwork
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build and cultivate relationships
• Mastery of problem solving and decision-making skills
• Mastery of growth mindset (agility and developing yourself and others) skills
• Possesses extensive understanding of the business development, ticketing, and live event industry
• Superior relationship building and negotiation skills
• Passion for live entertainment
Pay Scale: $164,068- $255,131
