Vice President for University Advancement

Southeastern Louisiana University seeks a dynamic, visionary, and experienced leader to serve as Vice President for University Advancement. Reporting directly to the President, the Vice President for University Advancement serves as a key member of the executive leadership team, providing strategic leadership to advance the university’s mission, vision, and goals through philanthropic support, alumni engagement, and public relations.

This position will oversee a comprehensive advancement program, including development, alumni relations, communications, and external relations, fostering relationships that enhance the university’s profile, secure resources, and promote Southeastern’s role as a leading institution of higher education.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree with 10 years of progressively responsible leadership experience in advancement or related field

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master's degree or higher in a relevant field
- Experience in higher education advancement
- Familiarity with the Southeast Louisiana region and its philanthropic community

DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS
- Demonstrated success in major gift fundraising, capital campaigns, and donor relations
- Proven ability to lead and manage a diverse team and foster a culture of accountability and excellence
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- Strategic thinker with a results-oriented approach
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of advancement work
