First Person, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of NFP Corp ("NFP") is looking to hire a Vice President, Benefit Consultant to:
Provide clients with consulting services and develop and oversee the strategic direction of the benefits programs and other people strategies.
Focus on strategy and growth; act as the main avenue of strategic client contact to maintain and grow the book of business through sales to existing clients.
Provide proactive leadership in the development of the client's benefit plan strategy, as a an industry expert, to help build financial plans that align with clients goals, budgets and needs.
Maintain and manage strong relationships with key carrier partnerships, form new partnerships to expand offerings for clients.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead, Manage, & Hold Accountability
- Manage the client life cycle and delegate client work to ensure high quality of delivery
- Organizing, designing, and maintaining systems and processes that support the projects and teams
Drive Client Strategy
- Grow the book of business through up-selling and cross-selling
- Work with clients to build financial plan strategies that align with their goals, budgets, and needs
- Understand and present data and subject matter as it pertains to benefit plans and claims projections during the renewal and other processes
- Understand market trends, laws and regulations that pertain to benefit plans and advising clients appropriately
Own Client Retention and Maintain & Grow Strong Client Relationships
- Develop strong working relationships with clients
Maintain Strong Carrier Relationships & Form New Partnerships to Expand Offerings for Clients
- Understand technical products, work with vendors, and build relationships with partners
- Lead negotiations with carrier partners on renewals
Be an Industry Expert. Seek Learning Opportunities & Produce Thought Relationship
- Share knowledge and experience with teams to aid in the growth and development of teammates and clients
- Contribute by authoring blogs and white papers sharing benefits strategy wins and market trends
Goals and Measures of Success

Essential Skills:
- Performing work with attention to detail in a fast-paced office environment
- Interacting with others in person, via phone, and through email

- Utilizing technology, (i.e., computer, printer, business software, and phone)
- Being sensitive to First Person’s needs, employee goodwill, and public image
- Occasionally reaching, pushing, and lifting (up to 10 pounds)
- Travel is required; must maintain a good driving record
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or related field or equivalent industry experience.
- 3+ years of service & consulting related experience
- Account management or project/team leadership experience preferred
- Health and Life Producer license required within 90-days of employment
