Job Summary:
The Vice President has local and/or regional responsibility for relationships with multiple clients with medium to high complexity. Manages sales results, maintains strong relationships with key client stakeholders and carriers and is responsible for policy compliance, client satisfaction, and people management functions. Will have objectives around retention and staff development.
This is a full-time role, with the flexibility of a hybrid schedule from our Bethesda, MD office. We will consider remote options for highly qualified candidates with extensive experience in High-Net-Worth Personal Lines and staff management who can occasionally report to the office.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain ongoing relationships with complex and large clients; Act as the subject matter expert on Property & Casualty and carrier products and services.
- Will manage and develop a client servicing team (Coordinators through Sr. Account Exec/AVP) and will be responsible for oversight and directives of said team.
- Maintain oversight of the team's marketing functions for all new and renewal business, renewal and new business proposals for clients.
- May visit clients to review insurance programs or new products, or introduce new products (minimal travel expected).
- Responsible for financial P&L for assigned group. Must be able to read, analyze and reconcile financial reports
- Responsible for EPIC reporting for the group.
Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities:
- Ability to successfully manage, set goals and career development objectives for staff. Working some regular days from our Bethesda office will be important in meeting this objective.
- Personal Lines experience with extensive High Net Worth Account/Client Management experience. This must include experience at an independent agency or retail insurance brokerage.
- Familiarity with major markets, such as AIG, Chubb/ACE, PURE and Cincinnati Financial. This includes knowledge of their products, appetite and experience with their quoting systems.
- Comprehensive experience with national markets.
- Highly professional and self-motivated.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills as well as excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with clients, colleagues, and carriers.
- Proficiency in Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Excellent written communication skills – writes clearly; edits work for spelling and grammar; varies writing style to meet needs; presents numeric data effectively.
- Self-confident to make sound independent decisions.
- Ability to successfully interact with a variety of people/personalities.
- Demonstrate poised leadership skills.
- Possess technical expertise plus good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to handle situations in a calm, courteous and professional manner.
Education and/or Experience:
- More than 10 years industry and product line experience
- Must have experience as a staff manager, supervisor or Team Lead within a P&C account servicing team
- A bachelor’s degree preferred. HS Diploma or GED is required
- In addition to familiarity with the major markets as mentioned above, a familiarity with carriers such as Travelers and Progressive as well as The National Flood Ins. Program
- Experience with an agency management system/CRM is required. Fluency with Epic is a plus.
Certificates, Licenses, Registration:
- Property & Casualty Broker's License required
- CPCU or other P&C designation preferred.

The base salary range for this position is $166,000– $190,000. The base salary offered will be determined by factors including, but not limited to, experience, credentials, education, certifications, skill level required for the position, the scope of the position, and geographic location. Actual base salary offered will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
