A Day in the Life:
This position offers an exciting opportunity to join the Bunge North America team at our soybean processing plant in Decatur, IN. As a Labor Pool Utility Worker in the Crush Department, you'll play a crucial role supporting plant operations, especially during the peak harvest season. This role is also a pathway to permanent full-time positions within the plant, providing excellent career growth potential. Position Details:
- Full-time, permanent position.
- Starting pay: $27.73 per hour
- Shift Requirements: Must be willing to work second and third shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime.

What You'll Be Doing:
Your responsibilities as a Labor Pool Utility Worker will be diverse, offering valuable experience across various aspects of soybean processing:
Cleaning and preparing silos and bowls to ensure smooth and efficient storage of incoming soybeans. This may involve removing residual material, inspecting for any damage, and ensuring proper ventilation.
Supporting other pre-harvest activities as needed, contributing to overall plant readiness.
Provide relief and support to regular employees across various tasks and responsibilities within the facility as needed. This includes covering breaks, assisting with other duties, and ensuring smooth operations.
- Operating the bean dump scales, accurately weighing incoming soybean deliveries. Recording weights, and ensuring the correct processing of associated paperwork.
- Managing conveyors to efficiently direct soybeans to designated silos. This requires careful monitoring and adjustment to prevent blockages and ensure proper distribution.
- Completing necessary paperwork accurately and promptly, following established departmental procedures.
- Actively participating in maintaining and improving the plant's food safety management system. This includes adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), reporting any food safety concerns, and complying with customer and regulatory requirements.
- Strictly adhering to all safety policies and procedures, ensuring a safe work environment for oneself and colleagues. Actively participating in safety training and initiatives.
- Effectively working within a team environment, providing assistance to coworkers, and contributing to a positive and productive work atmosphere.
- Promptly reporting any food safety concerns to the appropriate personnel to ensure timely and effective corrective action.
- Participating in cleaning and sanitation activities within the department as directed to maintain a hygienic and safe production environment
- Performing other duties and tasks as assigned by supervisors, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability to changing operational needs.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED preferred. Equivalent experience may be considered.
- Demonstrated ability to work safely and follow established policies and procedures.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and comfortably. Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces safely and effectively.
- Good communication skills (both written and verbal) for effective interaction with colleagues and supervisors.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment, contributing to a positive and collaborative atmosphere.
- Willingness to work overtime and flexible hours as required to meet operational needs.
- Ability to work second and third shifts, weekends, and holidays.
- Good attendance record demonstrating reliability and commitment.
