Mitsubishi Electric Trane HVAC US LLC is looking for a Tiger Team VRF/Controls Manager in Suwanee, GA.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for providing controls service support and training on Commercial and Residential control systems within the department. Conceives, develops and evaluates plans and criteria for solving complex controls problems by phone, email and site visits. Implements plans to transfer and leverage controls engineering knowledge to Service and Technical Operations staff, DSG's and Contractors. Be deployed on Tiger Team issues.

The essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Provide controls technical and application support through the development and implementation of application tools, programs, and information to create strategic advantage, solve after sales service issues.
  • Suggests product development ideas, for evaluation to the EC or factory.
  • Lead the creation and implementation of troubleshooting control issues after sales training for Service and Technical Operations, DSG's and contractors.
  • Review technical documentation, literature, and collateral that includes, but is not limited to, application notes, I&O manuals, schematic drawings, submittals, engineering data, and white papers.
  • Diagnose and solve extremely complex failures, problems and issues.
  • Will interact with all Mitsubishi HVAC equipment but be a specialist in M&P.
  • Conducts site visits and field incoming technical calls.
  • Evaluates new/prototype products to determine feasibility of use in the US market or other related issues.
  • Develops specialized troubleshooting procedures.
  • Conducts training to Service department employees on specialized troubleshooting procedures.
  • Communicates/interacts with engineers and contractors in a professional manner and conducts specialized onsite training as needed.
  • Maintains open channels and communicate to factory staff. Must have the ability to clearly articulate complex issues to factory staff via email and during TWG meetings.
  • The TTVRFM will analyze files and translate findings to others.

The non-essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Willing to travel up to 30% to for various Company meetings and training both domestically and possibly internationally
  • Various support functions relating to specific service activities and opportunities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education/Experience/Training:

  • 5-10 years technical HVAC controls, integration, and product development experience.
  • B.S degree in electrical/computer/mechanical engineering, computer science, or technical degree in HVAC Control Systems or Computer Networking, or equivalent.
  • Advanced technical experience with VRF equipment.
  • Technical experience with DDC controls, BMS/BAS, LonWorks, BACnet, and networking.
  • Proficiency in the use advanced equipment not commonly used by the general HVAC community to identify issues.
  • Excellent computer skills with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Strong communication skills, including presentations, training facilitation, and technical writing.
  • Has the experience, energy and skills to relentlessly track down technical refrigerant or electronic issues.
  • Analytical approach to problem solving.
  • Demonstrates the ability to be self-motivated and work hands-on to solve problems.
  • Demonstrates deliberation, discipline, and a drive for quality.
  • Valid Driver's License with acceptable driving record.
  • Team player demonstrating METUS core values including a desire to win together, deliver excellence, drive sustainability, focus on execution and learn continuously.

The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $104,000 and $143,000 per year, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including target bonus plans and discretionary awards. Subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable plans then in effect, eligible employees may enroll in a 401(k) plan, as well as participate in Company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance plans for the employee and the employee's eligible dependents. Employees will also receive 80 hours of vacation per year, 56 hours of paid sick leave annually, and 13 paid holidays throughout the calendar year, depending on hire date. Employees may also take up to 12 weeks of paid or unpaid [parental/disability/emergency/etc.] leave, if eligible.
