The mission of the Office of Admission is to achieve an optimal annual enrollment of new first-year and transfer undergraduate students. Admission staff encourage prospective students from all walks of life to experience the world class educational and social benefits of being an undergraduate at Bridgewater State University.Position Summary
The Admissions Recruiter is responsible for freshmen student recruitment and represents Bridgewater State University (BSU) at college fairs and high schools events throughout Massachusetts and New England. The Admissions Recruiter will counsel prospective students and their families regarding admission criteria, application and financial aid processes, academic programs, campus facilities and resources, student organizations and activities.2 positions available
The Admissions Recruiter will report to the Dean of Admissions. The position is temporary, non-benefited and paid a bi-weekly stipend of $1,850. BSU will provide a rental car or mileage reimbursement, book hotel accommodations and reimburse per diem for related expenses through its procurement travel system. The contract begins September 1, 2024, ends December 1, 2024 and is non-renewable.

* Build and maintain a strong working knowledge of BSU, its programs, opportunities and admission policies.* Plan and participate in high school visits, college fairs and other recruitment activities.
* Represent the university knowledgeably, articulately and enthusiastically with an effective professional demeanor.
* Foster relationships with prospective students and their families to encourage campus visits and application submission.
* Extensive travel in Massachusetts and out-of-state, frequently overnight, while working evening hours and occasional weekends.
* Maintain accurate visit and recruiting records for all events in assigned territory.
* Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
* Bachelor's Degree* 1-2 years of experience in higher education or related field.
* Possession of a valid/clean U.S. driver's license to rent and operate a motor vehicle with ability to travel extensively within the Northeastern United States.
* Ability to travel overnights while working evening hours and occasional weekends.
* Ability to walk, stand for long periods, lift and carry boxes that weigh 25 lbs. or more with or without accommodation.
* Work well independently and as a member of a team.
* Strong computer literacy, must demonstrate solid judgment, organizational, time management, and public speaking skills.
* Sensitive to cultural diversity and backgrounds.
Preferred Qualifications
* Graduates of BSU or individuals with demonstrated and thorough knowledge of Bridgewater programs and opportunities for prospective students.Work Environment
