Job Summary
The Office of Property Disposition has an exciting opportunity to employ a Technology Clerk to support delivery of information technology disposition services to university administrative and academic units. Day-to-day operational duties include: delivering excellent customer service, processing sales transactions, processing equipment for sale, and performing data entry into our inventory management system.
This position is a temporary appointment and will report to the Receiving Warehouse Supervisor. This role requires someone who can work under limited supervision, proactively anticipates and resolves problems, has experience in a role providing excellent customer service, the ability to execute routine procedures, and has the passion to exceed customer expectations.

Responsibilities*
PRODUCTION SUPPORT (50 %)
- Assist in the identification of incoming computer systems and components for inventory and pricing purposes.
- Assist eCommerce Clerks with photographing equipment for resale.
- Diagnose, repair, and upgrade computer systems in preparation for sale.
- Perform data cleansing/destruction activities on all hard drive and solid state drive media prior to resale.
- Complete E-waste procedures for all identified electronic scrap.
- Support customers by answering questions about information technology related property.
- Perform on-site pickup of surplus items and verify DOS forms in accordance with service-level agreements.
- Float to other warehouse areas as workload permits.
RELATED DUTIES (50 %)
- Perform regular inventory audits.
- Perform data entry into point of sales and inventory management systems.
- Identify stock by using codes and item numbers.
- Load and unload stock from motor vehicles without accommodation.
- Clean assigned work area and equipment.
- Inspect items for damage and completeness.
- Record items received, dispensed, or returned and perform stock counts.
Required Qualifications*
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Six months of sales experience preferred.
- Demonstrated sales technique and product knowledge preferred.
- Ability to type 25 WPM or higher with accuracy.
- Courteous with strong customer service orientation.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills required.
- Ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbally.
- Skilled in multitasking; including the ability to be flexible and adapt to changes quickly.
- Strong computer navigation skills and PC Knowledge.
- Ability to learn and think conceptually.
- Dependable with proficient attention to detail.
- Demonstrate patience in all customer contact situations; including maintaining a pleasant and professional tone and manner.
Desired Qualifications*
- Strong customer communication skills with the ability to communicate technical issues to non-technical customers.
- Ability to work well within a team to learn and share knowledge by applying processes ensuring that resolutions are documented in a Knowledge Management database.
- Comptia A+ Certification.
