Technical Writer 

Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Technical Writer to join our team for a 6 month, 40 hours per week freelance role. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating and maintaining high-quality technical documentation that meets the needs of our users and customers. This role involves collaborating with engineers and developers to gather information and ensure that the documentation is clear, concise, and user-friendly.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain technical documentation including user manuals, API documentation, and online help guides.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to understand technical concepts and translate them into clear documentation.
• Review and edit documentation for clarity, accuracy, and consistency.
• Utilize tools such as Perl and C++ to assist in the documentation process where necessary.
• Work with stakeholders to gather feedback and continuously improve documentation based on user needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Technical Communication, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a technical writer or similar role.
• Strong understanding of technical writing principles and best practices.
• Proficiency in writing documentation for software applications and APIs.
• Familiarity with programming languages such as Perl and C++, and experience in Java is a plus.

In this position, you may have access to client or customer systems, confidential and/or proprietary information or data. This position is onsite and requires you to work closely with other individuals in a collaborative team environment.
