Position Summary/Objective
The Sr. Tax Processor is responsible for ensuring daily tax liabilities are completed and processed accurately. data management is complete and accurate for assigned jurisdictions to assist with completing timely and accurate filings and payments. Sr Tax Processor is responsible work with leaders and the internal team.
Essential Functions/Duties/Responsibilities
- Process Daily Tax Integrations by creating a packet
- Perform frequency updates, and run daily schedule screen reports to audit any outstanding liabilities
- Work with agency relations regarding the mapping of tax code
- Work with the internal team to map new tax codes and exception tax codes like WA L&I, WY WC, and PFML
- Train New Hires and demonstrate the Taxex process for other teams upon request
- Monitor the tax process dashboard and assign tasks and cases to team members.
- Work with leaders regarding process improvement and system enhancement.
- Run a daily audit to validate the status, frequency, payment method, and rate for the tax code added by the processing team.
- Research discrepancies from daily tax integrations
- Release impounds
- Complete research and reports
- Oversee work distribution of daily processing workload across the global team
- Map new tax codes from daily tax integration imports
- Process and monitor Estimate Tax Payments and prepaid
- File packets in the designated folder when checked
- Validate inactive tax codes for compliance
- Audit and update State Unemployment Insurance (SUI) rates
- Manage accounts that are in an 'Applied for Status"
- Update frequency and payment method changes
- Update taxable wage base
- Ensure mapping of tax codes is accurate in TaxEx and Workday
- Ensure required codes are set up (combined codes)
- Setup and map new tax codes during daily importation
- Run SUI rate audits between WD and TaxEx
- Update SUI rate in TaxEx and WD for notices received or client-provided rates
- Work with Agency Relations to get data exchanged from agencies updated in WD and TaxEx
- Update Wage Base in WD annually (ex. MI UI)
- Validate inactiveTax Codes
- Work with clients for EFT registrations
- Work with clients for TPA registrations
- Work with client to gather missing POAs
- Update deposit frequencies based on jurisdiction requirements and agency notices
- Validate and update payment methods per agency requirements
- Validate and update EIN format per agency requirements

Qualifications and Experience
- Associate Degree
- 3-5 years of related Payroll and/or tax experience OR 3-5 years of customer service/payroll processing
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Excellent organization and time management skills
- Very strong communication and presentation skills, including both written and verbal forms.
- Analytical with strong problem-solving abilities and creative resolution skills.
- Knowledge of the legal and regulatory environment as it relates to federal, state, and local income tax and unemployment tax.
- Must be able to work in a high-demand, fast-paced outsourcing environment.
Preferred Skills
- Associate degree or higher (or 3 years' experience equivalent)
- Experience in an outsourcing environment, payroll or tax-preferred
