Biweekly Hours: 80.00
Shift: 8:00am-4:30pm
The MetroHealth System is redefining health care by going beyond medical treatment to improve the foundations of community health and well-being: affordable housing, a cleaner environment, economic opportunity and access to fresh food, convenient transportation, legal help and other services. The system strives to become as good at preventing disease as it is at treating it. Founded in 1837, Cuyahoga County's safety-net health system operates four hospitals, four emergency departments and more than 20 health centers.
Summary:
Assumes responsibility for the development of The MetroHealth System's (MHS) long- and short-term communications strategy. Responsible for vision, innovative leadership and operational oversight for the Communications department, which includes media relations, public information, and internal/external publications. Ensures communication strategies and policies are consistent with MHS goals, objectives, and priorities. Ensures positive relationships with all forms of media organizations. Collaborate with external affairs team and content experts to define key messages and themes, ensuring consistency of messaging across all communications, including social media platforms, and seamless execution for messaging of MetroHealth priorities for the President & CEO and senior executives. Manages and directs the internal and external communications functions. As a member of the executive team participates with other senior executives in institutional planning, priority development, and problem resolution. Interacts professionally with all internal and external customers using strong interpersonal skills. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of the MetroHealth System.

Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor's Degree in communications, journalism, business, or a related field.
- Ten years of progressively responsible management experience involving corporate communications and media relations.
- Significant years' experience in a leadership capacity in communications, media or public relations preferably in a high intensity, fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated success in proactively building a relationship with reporters and editors (locally and nationally) and in positioning subject matter with the media to achieve high-impact placements.
- Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills and the ability to effectively interface with senior management, the Board of Trustees, and staff.
- Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
