About our Internships
APCO is hiring seniors and recent graduates to join our full-time, 6-month paid internship program. Our interns will experience on-the-job training in client services, global marketing, or new business development, are embedded with one or more of our five North American office teams, and are involved in a wide variety of daily client account activities. Interns are treated as professional staff, participate in team meetings and actively contribute ideas, and support the overall management and growth of client work and the firm.
This internship will sit with APCO Impact in either our DC or NY offices.
APCO Impact is an advisory group that sits within APCO and supports clients across business, government and philanthropy. Our work helps clients be catalysts for progress and address the key issues of our time, including corporate purpose; ESG; climate and sustainability; racial and gender equity; and social justice. Our integrated approach to designing solutions to these complex and interconnected challenges is based on a foundational belief that in order to help clients achieve progress, change must be woven into decision-making across the entirety of an organization’s footprint.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor issues, news events and competitor happenings
- Help with social media research
- Create social media content
- Assist with drafting and editing client deliverables
- Identify and compile lists of media contacts
- Research topics and issues and analyze findings
- Identify relevant stakeholders and potential influencers
- Edit and proofread client deliverables
- Assist in the development of client proposals
- Develop monthly new business reports
- Contribute to brainstorms and communications plans
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- A demonstrated interest in communications, journalism or political science
- Comfort in a fast-paced environment collaborating with a distributed team
- Excellent written and oral communication and research skills
- Entrepreneurial with strong critical thinking abilities
- Organized and attentive to detail
- Able to multi-task and approach assignments independently
- Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite
- Available to work 40 hours per week
- Requires US Work Authorization, unable to consider candidates with OPT/Post-OPT status
What are the core working hours and will I need to be in an office?
Our interns work between 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
We are committed to a hybrid and flexible working environment, and there may be days that you wish to work from home and days that we come together so that you get to explore more of our culture and meet other colleagues. You will be provided with a company laptop so that you are able to work from home and in the office easily.
Compensation:
This is a paid internship at a fixed hourly rate of $17.50

Our intern program begins on Monday, June 9th and ends on Friday, December 12th 2025.
