About this role:
Reporting to the head of Sustainability, this position will lead a small team and the company’s external engagement strategy for sustainability-related initiatives across the US. This individual will build relationships with key industry actors to champion Wells Fargo’s sustainability reputation, activities and impacts. This leader will direct the sustainability team’s conference and events strategy and will work closely with the Wells Fargo Foundation to oversee sustainability-related philanthropy. This position can sit in New York, NY or Washington, DC and is required to be in the office 3 days a week. The Wells Fargo job profile is Community Impact & Sustainability Director.
In this role, you will:
Develop the Bank’s external engagement strategy for enterprise sustainability-related initiatives
Implement sustainability-related advocacy strategies that support the Bank’s business objectives
Serve as a spokesperson and thought leader on the appropriate role of finance in the field of sustainability
Work with Wells Fargo’s Government Relations team and other partners to foster relationships with key government, philanthropic, nonprofit and community leaders
Facilitate engagement with organizations and non-profits through collaborations and grantmaking
Represent Wells Fargo in sustainability-related working groups and associations
Oversee a portfolio of sustainability-related grants to nonprofits
Partner with senior leaders across Public Affairs to enhance our reputation as a leader in sustainability
Deliver executive-level presentations that influence decision makers
Lead and coach a small team of geographically dispersed professionals
Required Qualifications:
8+ years of Community Impact or Sustainability experience, demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
4+ years of management or leadership experience
Desired Qualifications:
Experience developing external engagement strategies for sustainability-related initiatives
Experience designing advocacy strategies that drive change
Experience collaborating with senior leaders on sustainability-related initiatives
Experience managing relationships and collaborating with external stakeholders
Experience preparing executive-level presentations with MS PowerPoint
Experience leading, high-performing geographically dispersed teams
Job Expectations:
Ability to travel up to 20% of the time

1700 K Street, NW - Washington, DC ($126,400 to $262,600)
