Overview
The primary purpose of the Warehouse Training Supervisor role is to develop, implement, and oversee training programs, ensuring employees are equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to perform their roles safely, effectively, and efficiently. This role involves collaborating with Operations Managers, Department Leads and Senior Leadership to identify training needs, monitor training effectiveness, and maintain compliance with company and regulatory standards. The successful candidate will be a driven, solution-based self-starter who will be the driving force in ensuring successful training and compliance in the facility.
Responsibilities
Training Program Development and Delivery
- Authority to influence, create, and revise training policies, compliance procedures, and safety protocols to enhance operational effectiveness and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Design, develop, and implement training programs for new and existing warehouse employees, covering warehouse operations, including equipment use and operation, safety protocols, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Conduct regular training sessions, workshops, and hands-on demonstrations to ensure understanding and retention of key concepts.
- Partner with department managers to identify training needs and customize programs to address skill gaps.
- Maintain training records and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Onboarding & Job Specific Orientation:
- Oversee the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring a positive and seamless introduction to the warehouse environment.
- Provide new employees with the necessary tools, resources, and training to quickly adapt to their roles.
Compliance & Safety:
- Partner with the Safety Manager to monitor adherence to safety standards, ensuring all employees follow OSHA, VOSH, FDA and other relevant regulations and company policies.
- Promote a culture of safety by developing and delivering safety training, including regular refreshers, to minimize workplace accidents and maintain a safe working environment.
- Conduct periodic refresher training on safety, equipment usage, and emergency response.
Other Responsibilities
- Accomplish all tasks as appropriately assigned or requested, including project-based work.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- No direct supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications
Education/Certification
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree in business, logistics, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years in a supervisory or training role.
- 3+ years of experience in warehouse operations.
Skill and Ability
- Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate employees.
- Analytical and organizational skills to assess training needs and track program success.
- Strong organizational skills including time management, physical organization, goal setting, and multitasking.
- Proficiency in training tools, software, and labor management systems (LMS).
- Solid understanding of warehouse operations, including inventory management, equipment handling, and safety practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS).
