Supervisor Pathology - Microbiology-Pathology
Location: METROHEALTH MEDICAL CENTER
Biweekly Hours: 80.00
Shift: M-F 8a- 5p; Additional days and time as needed

Summary:
Provides direct on-site analysis of the day-to-day operation including adjustment of specimen workflow, test performance, quality, compliance, and associated documentation to adhere to the applicable regulatory agencies, company policies and procedures to ensure efficient operation and supervision of the Microbiology/Bacteriology area of the Laboratory. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.
Qualifications:
Registered Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) through the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP), or equivalent registration. Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology. Five years of laboratory bench experience as a Laboratory Technologist with three years of training and/or experience in nonwaived Microbiology testing. Must be able to perform moderate complexity testing competency assessments in accordance with CLIA - 42CFR493.1413. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Strong computer skills. Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds Preferred: Supervisory experience. Physical Requirements: May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate intermittently during the day. May need to sit or stand for extended periods. See in the normal visual range with or without correction. Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction. Requires some exposure to communicable diseases or body fluids. Ability to communicate face-to-face, via phone, email, and other communications. Ability to see computer monitor and departmental documents
