Position - Union: Stock Handler

Hourly Rate: $40.49 - $41.49
Responsibilities
Under directive supervision:
Receives, documents, handles and stores incoming shipments of materials and supplies; including quality control and other receipt inspections.
Assembles material for jobs or for transfer to other Storerooms.
Prepares out going materials and arranges for shipments.
Accepts material returns and sorts for stock or salvage.
Performs inventories, as required, including review of stock levels and obsolescence. Drives and operates all Stores equipment, such as forklifts and Stores trucks.
Performs Stores clerical duties as required.
Performs related or less skilled work as required.
Skills and Requirements
Should have had at least one year of experience in related utility operations or the equivalent, prior experience in the Stores Department is desirable. Must be able to perform semi-routine operations of considerable complexity and variety where standard methods of procedure are available. Equivalent to four years of high school.
Must acquire a working knowledge of related stock symbol system, company accounting and purchasing procedures, and computer terminal operations.
Prefer someone already having such knowledge.
Must be familiar with the Company's Safety Rules, approved methods of resuscitation and be able to render practical First Aid.
Must be able to qualify for required licenses.

Must have established reputation for being strictly honest in the custody of money or property.
Must be willing to work extra and/or irregular hours as required.
Must be particularly alert in observing hazards and avoiding accidents.
Must be willing to work under unusual or special working conditions and surroundings, as well as the normal working conditions pertaining to this job.
