Job Description
Position Overview
The Controller for SS&C's Health will oversee financial operations, reporting, and compliance, partnering closely with senior management to drive data-informed decisions and optimize financial performance. Reporting to the Chief Accounting Officer, the Controller will manage end-to-end accounting processes, strategic planning, and team leadership, focusing on operational efficiency and adaptability in a dynamic industry environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage financial reporting processes, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery for Health.
- Direct month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities, adhering to GAAP, IFRS, and internal policies.
- Monitor internal controls, safeguarding assets and ensuring the integrity of financial statements.
- Participate in budgeting and forecasting processes, driving alignment with business goals and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- Provide comprehensive performance insights to senior leadership on budget variances, metrics, and strategic optimization.
- Collaborate with peers, directs, and business leader partners to develop financial strategy, analyze business development, and identify growth opportunities.
- Ensure regulatory compliance by implementing sound financial practices and addressing audit findings.
- Lead and mentor a team of accounting professionals, promoting continuous improvement, accountability, and team excellence.
- Cultivate a culture of innovation and adaptability, especially in response to changes such as systems integration and digital workers.
Personal Competencies & Attributes
- A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field; CPA or MBA preferred
- 10+ years of financial experience, including 3–5 years in a senior finance role within the healthcare industry
- Business-oriented, comfortable navigating ambiguity and finding innovative solutions
- Strong working knowledge and experience with revenue recognition (ASC 606)
- Industry foundation, understanding the healthcare industry
- Inquisitive, challenging mindset, growth orientated

- Quick learner, comfortable in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
