Position Summary

The Senior Financial Analyst oversees the preparation and analysis of the firm’s financial performance. Key responsibilities include financial oversight and analysis, reconciliations, budgeting, forecasting and reporting. Collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders, the Analyst will play a crucial role in providing insights and recommendations regarding financial performance. Additionally, you will contribute to streamlining and automating business processes to enhance efficiencies and improve analytics, increasing the transparency of financial information for senior management’s decision-making processes.

This is a full-time role with the flexibility of a hybrid schedule with a min. 2 days a week in our mid-town NYC office-required.

Job Accountabilities / What You’ll Do

  • Manage the financial oversight function ensuring compliance with internal controls and company policies, while analyzing performance by identifying key variance drivers.
  • Participate in development of annual budgets, in collaboration with department leaders and senior management by gathering inputs, validating assumptions, and ensuring alignment of financial plans with past performance and operational goals.
  • Prepare and present insightful financial reports, dashboards, and presentations to senior leaders and key stakeholders, highlighting performance trends, risks, opportunities and actionable insights.  
  • Participate in the month-end close process through the ownership of various monthly, quarterly and annual close deliverables, including key reconciliations, variance analysis and journal entries.
  • Assist in year-end tax compliance activities through the review of filings.
  • Own and regularly update process documentation.
  • Review existing business processes and solution ways to standardize, automate and increase transparency of information to senior management.
  • Conduct ad-hoc financial analysis and special projects as requested by senior management, providing timely and accurate insights to support strategic decision-making.
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with key functional areas

    Experience

    • Required: 2-4 years of experience in an accounting or finance role
    • Solid knowledge of GAAP 
    • Experience with Financial Systems such as Cognos, Lawson, Concur, AVID or comparable financial ledger and reporting systems
    • Experience in business automation and process improvement required
    • Experience in building, documenting and managing dashboards required
    • Financial modeling skills a plus or eagerness to learn is essential 

    Required Skills / Abilities

    • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and communicate insights effectively
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (lookups, pivot tables, formula development), PowerPoint, and business intelligence tools such as PowerBI and Power Query

    Education

    • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting,  
    • CPA, CFA, or other relevant professional certifications is a plus

The base salary range for this position is $75,000 – $110,000. The base salary offered will be determined by factors including, but not limited to, experience, credentials, education, certifications, skill level required for the position, the scope of the position, and geographic location. Actual base salary offered will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
