The Site Project Supervisor directly supervises installation of our unique Crane Systems and products onsite for customers nationwide. This role meticulously manages each installation phase to ensure a seamless project delivery. Relying on their high caliber construction and site leadership skills, this role is the liaison between PAR Systems, our subcontractors and our customers.
Responsibilities of the role:
Balancing customer satisfaction, team communication, and project progress is the key to unlocking successful project completion. You'll need to build trust quickly to estimate and coordinate installation activities. Below is a summary of the core responsibilities of this role:
Safety Management
Ensure Safety Protocols: Implement and enforce strict safety measures for both the construction crew and the production workers below. This includes conducting daily safety meetings, monitoring safety compliance, and ensuring all crew members are properly trained and equipped with necessary PPE (personal protective equipment).
Hazard Identification and Mitigation: Identify and assess potential hazards associated with working at heights, near active production lines, and with heavy equipment. Maintain and follow mitigation strategies, such as barriers, signage, and spotters.
Emergency Response Plans: Maintain and follow emergency evacuation procedures, including rescue operations for workers above production areas. Ensure crew members are trained in these protocols.
Coordinate with Safety Managers: Collaborate closely with safety management to ensure compliance with OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) and other local safety regulations as well as adhering to the Customer’s specific Site Safety and Health Plan. This also includes ensuring all of the end user’s, customer’s, and our trainings are complete for each crew member.
Project Coordination and Communication
Interface with Project Managers and Field Team: Act as the primary point of contact between the field team, project managers, and production personnel. Ensure clear communication regarding the construction schedule, progress, and any potential disruptions to production activities.
Coordinate with Production Teams: Communicate regularly with the production team and customer to schedule construction activities in a way that minimizes disruptions to their work, especially in areas directly beneath the crane or rail system.
Manage Subcontractors and Crews: Oversee and coordinate the work of subcontractors, ensuring that the proper tradespeople are on site at the right time and that all activities are progressing on schedule.
Schedule Management and Critical Path Maintenance
Maintain Schedule: Monitor the construction schedule closely to ensure milestones are being met. Identify any potential delays early and work with the team to resolve issues. Ensure that the project remains on track, especially concerning critical path activities that impact the overall timeline.
Work Scheduling: Schedule work during off-hours, weekends, or other low-production times if needed to prevent interference with active production below. Ensure that construction activities do not delay production or cause any safety concerns.
Progress Tracking: Track daily/weekly progress against the project timeline and provide regular updates to stakeholders. Implement corrective actions if necessary to avoid schedule slippage.
Quality Control and Inspection
Oversee Construction Quality: Ensure the installation of the crane and rail system meets both the project specifications and industry standards by working with the onsite Quality Manager.
Support Quality Inspections: Support regular inspections by onsite Quality Manager and Contractor to ensure that all aspects of construction are proceeding according to plan and meeting safety and quality standards.
Document Progress and Issues: Maintain documentation of the construction process, including daily logs, inspection reports, customer delays, and any incidents or issues that arise.
Risk Management and Problem Solving
Proactive Risk Management: Continuously assess risks associated with working above production areas and handle any concerns related to structural integrity, crane operations, or worker safety.
Problem Solving: Resolve any issues that arise, whether related to equipment, personnel, or safety concerns. Act quickly and decisively to mitigate any negative impact on the project or the production environment.
Collaboration with Engineers and Project Team: Collaborate with engineers and the Project Team to address any technical challenges during crane and rail system installation, ensuring that solutions do not interfere with safety or schedule.
Resource Management
Ensure Equipment Availability: Ensure all necessary construction equipment, tools, and materials are available and in working condition. This includes coordinating crane lifts, rigging, and other heavy equipment for installation tasks.
Crew Supervision and Training: Manage the site workforce, including ensuring that workers have the proper training for the tasks they are performing, especially for high-risk activities such as crane rigging, working at heights, or operating heavy machinery.
Project Stakeholder and Customer Interaction
Manage Customer Expectations: Keep stakeholders, including senior management, clients, and production supervisors, informed about the progress and any issues. Ensure that they are aware of any production downtime or potential impacts on their operations due to the construction activities.
Customer Communication: Regularly update the customer on project milestones and address any concerns or changes in scope that could affect the timeline or cost.
Logistics and Site Management
Organize Site Logistics: Develop a clear plan for moving materials and equipment to and from the site, ensuring that deliveries and crane lifts are coordinated to avoid unnecessary disruptions.
Oversee Site Setup: Ensure that proper site access, barricades, and fall protection systems are in place for the construction crew, as well as any necessary protective measures for production personnel working beneath the crane system.
* 3+ years of construction site supervision experience including managing onsite subcontractors
* Have excellent communication skills
* Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
* Familiarity with electromechanical systems, Hydraulics, Mechanical Systems, Electrical Systems or Control software is a plus.
* Experience with Microsoft Suite preferred (Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint & Outlook)
* Ability to complete and pass site requirements and training including, but not limited to OSHA 30, Boom Lift Cert, NFPA 70E, LOTO, HazCom, Working at Heights, etc.
