Overview:
The 32BJ Health Fund is a multiemployer labor-management fund that provides health benefits to members of SEIU Local 32BJ and their dependents. The Fund has approximately 190,000 covered lives across 11 states. The Fund is self-insured and is responsible for efficiently managing its resources. The Fund offers comprehensive coverage that includes benefits for medical, hospital, prescription drug, vision, dental, short- and long-term disability and life insurance.
To ensure that the Fund can deliver cost-effective high-quality care, the Fund has embraced innovative purchasing strategies that encourage plan participants to use high quality primary care and other cost-effective benefits and providers. The Fund dedicates significant resources to actively managing its plans and provider networks to operationalize this strategy. The Fund also invests in innovative policy solutions that will lower healthcare costs for the Fund and its plan participants.

Position Overview:
The Health Fund Strategy team has been created as a dedicated resource to accelerate the depth, breadth, and pace of strategic innovation. The Senior Manager, Strategy will lead and shape the strategy for a portfolio of 32BJ benefits and programs with an emphasis on medical administration, plan design, network structure, and cost-sharing arrangements. This position will drive strategic direction and innovation while serving as a liaison between strategy, operations, and analytics, ensuring that operational and data needs are considered throughout the development process. The Senior Manager, Strategy will build and maintain key external partnerships while managing and mentoring junior Strategy Analyst(s) focused on their assigned portfolio.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and implementation of healthcare payment innovation trends and best practices for 32BJ Health Fund's medical benefits
- Direct strategic planning and execution for initiatives within the assigned portfolio
- Build and maintain relationships with key external partners and stakeholders
- Synthesize 32BJ Health Fund data analyses to inform enhancement or introduction of initiatives within the assigned portfolio
- Lead collaboration with operations to identify enhancement opportunities and document specifications for successful advancement
- Provide strategic direction and ongoing recommendations for initiatives within the assigned portfolio
- Lead negotiations and strategy development for plans, detailed RFPs, and documentation for the assigned portfolio
- Design and implement tiered analytic frameworks to assess opportunities within the assigned portfolio
- Direct and oversee analyses related to the assigned portfolio, leveraging internal and external resources
- Lead the RFP review and selection process for initiatives within the assigned portfolio
- Drive the development and execution of implementation specifications for initiatives within the assigned portfolio
- Lead and coordinate multi-disciplinary working groups for initiatives within the assigned portfolio
- Develop and implement mechanisms to measure financial and operational progress
- Oversee the transition of initiatives from Strategy to the appropriate operational unit
- Direct strategic review of initiatives within the assigned portfolio
- Develop and mentor team members while fostering a culture of innovation and excellence
Qualifications: The ideal candidate is someone with a proven track record in healthcare strategy leadership, program management, and analytical experience in a health setting. Qualifications include:
- 7+ years of relevant work experience in healthcare strategy, program management, or related fields
- Bachelor's degree required, advanced degree in business, healthcare administration, or a related field preferred
- Demonstrated success in leading and developing junior staff
- Deep knowledge of the US healthcare system, with an emphasis on commercial payers and value-based care models
- Proven ability to design, implement, and manage large-scale health strategy initiatives, leading complex initiatives from planning to implementation
- Proven expertise in one or more areas of healthcare delivery
- Collaborative mindset and the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with cross-functional teams
- Strong analytical skills and experience with data analysis and visualization tools
- Executive-level communication and presentation skills
- Proven ability to drive results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Track record of innovative problem-solving and strategic thinking
Compensation details: 125000-135000 Yearly Salary
