Position Overview
As the Senior Community Manager, you will be responsible for creating exceptional resident experiences, effective leasing administration, staff management, financial reporting, and marketing strategies across multiple properties. Your leadership, strategic oversight, and attention to detail will contribute to the success of our communities and elevate our residents' living experiences. This role requires a people-first approach and will drive high performance across the portfolio, ensuring optimal operations, strong university relationships, and resident satisfaction.
What You Will Do
Leadership and Staff Management:
- Lead and supervise all community staff, ensuring optimal team performance, continuous development, and a collaborative, high-performance environment.
- Recruit, train, and, when necessary, terminate team members in accordance with company policies.
- Manage staff schedules, oversee property payroll submissions, and ensure resources are efficiently allocated across sites.
- Conduct regular check-ins with other sites to ensure they have the appropriate tools and resources.
- Provide support to teams when short-staffed or behind in leasing, follow-ups, renewals, and outreach efforts.
- Mentor other Community Managers within the portfolio to enhance skills and performance.
Property Operations:
- Maintain all properties to the highest standards, ensuring compliance with company guidelines and driving consistent improvements.
- Oversee and implement property reporting requirements, analyzing results to identify areas for operational enhancements.
- Negotiate vendor contracts, explore shared maintenance personnel opportunities, and evaluate vendor utilization across the portfolio to maximize savings and leverage scale.
- Lead strategic and operational initiatives across all assigned properties to optimize performance and efficiency.
Resident and University Relations:
- Build and maintain positive relationships with residents, universities, and other stakeholders, ensuring needs are addressed promptly.
- Execute quarterly Reputation Management Plans and review them with the Regional Manager.
- Leverage university partnerships for operational advantages across multiple sites.
- Serve as upper-level management in handling escalated resident and guarantor concerns to ensure swift resolution.
Compliance and Standards:
- Enforce compliance with all company policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
- Uphold brand and company standards, ensuring that the properties are consistently presented in an exceptional manner.
Special Projects and Reporting:
- Collaborate closely with the Regional Manager on special projects and assignments, contributing innovative ideas and strategic insights.
- Complete all assigned HR/People Operations-related tasks with meticulous attention to detail.
- Lead or participate in cross-property initiatives to drive operational efficiency and enhance the resident experience.
Other:
- Must be able to work a full shift/required work schedule onsite at the property.
- Must be available for additional hours including evenings, weekends, and overtime when necessary.
- Must be available to assist with move-outs, turn, and move-ins that extend beyond normal full-time hours.
- Perform all other duties and tasks as assigned by management

- Occasional travel may be necessary as needed
Ideally, you'll have
- High School graduate; college degree preferred but not required.
- Minimum 6 years of experience in property management or related fields, with at least 2 years of multi-property experience.
- Exceptional leadership skills with a proven ability to motivate and guide teams.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office/Google Suite and Windows and/or Apple operating systems.
You'll crush it if you have experience with
- Student Housing operations experience.
- Experience with Entrata and Yardi Software(s).
- Strategic portfolio management and cross-property leadership.
