The Sr. Benefits Analyst will have primary responsibility for the overall compliance of all US benefit programs, as well as interpreting and maintaining policies and procedures. The Sr. Analyst will be responsible for ensuring compliance requirements are upheld in partnership with regulatory agencies.
This individual will ensure effective administration & communication of all health & welfare processes with third party administrators, HR Shared Services, and vendors. They will effectively build partnerships with benefits vendors and support vendor management processes.
The Sr. Analyst will monitor, analyze and recommend compliance actions for new and evolving benefits legislation. In addition, they will work closely with internal and external partners to ensure compliance and mitigate risk, counsel Employee Services on benefits-related employee issues, and handle escalated employee concerns.
Location: This position is in-person with a hybrid schedule based at our New York, NY Corporate Headquarters or Parsippany, NJ Office.
Key Accountabilities:
Benefits Compliance and Plan Audits:
- Maintains and updates employee benefit materials to ensure accurate and effective communication of benefit programs including but not limited to annual review of and manage certain plan documents, SPD’s, SBC’s and SAR’s, SMM’s and regulatory notices
- Updates policy and procedural documents and forms and ensures compliant distribution processes are met
- Responsible for the collection and analysis of data necessary to complete government compliance activities and testing processes, as required including but not limited to SOX Testing, SAR’s (401K, Pension & Health Plans), 5500’s, COBRA compliance, and health and welfare Non-Discrimination Testing, The San Francisco City Option Program, ACA reporting (1095C), RDS, and annual audits
- Leads annual Defined Contribution Non-Discrimination Testing process along with communicating and funding employer contributions
- Oversees entire ACA process, including enrollment offering and continuous monitoring of eligibility
- Assures processes and procedures are in place to capture and maintain consistent and accurate benefit related data
- Responsible for pension plan compliance including annual address and alive audits, annual notices, missing participant process, forced RMD commencements and coordinates the first-level pension appeals process
- Conduct internal audits to monitor data related to health and welfare plans including demographic data needed for benefit enrollment
- Recommend, implement, and train teams on compliance practices to keep up with regulatory
changes affecting benefit plans
Benefits Implementation and Administration:

- Leads user acceptance testing during implementation of approved new benefit plans
- Compiles and generates various benefits information reports to conduct analysis and evaluation of benefit programs for continued enhancement and improvement
- Analyzes available data to evaluate benefits program metrics
- Maintains all benefit related processes with a continuous improvement mindset
- Partner with HRIS administration team to ensure benefit administrative tasks are administered accurately
- Supports other benefits projects (as needed), at the discretion of the Total Rewards leadership team
Budget Reconciliation & Auditing:
- Audits benefit plan invoices and program membership/enrollment as well as reports to ensure accurate employee levels and benefit cost liability
The hiring range for this position ranges from $92,310 - $124,890. The rate of pay offered will be dependent upon candidates’ relevant skills and experience.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree
• 5-7 years of experience with benefits administration
• Ability to interact with employees across all levels and functions within the organization
• Demonstrated ability to anticipate and respond to questions properly to ensure they are understood and tailored to the individual (knowing what drives them, how messages will be received, etc.).
