Position Description

This position requires proven commercial experience in the complete lifecycle development of ASP.NET and VB.NET/C# applications. The ideal candidate will have expertise in .NET application design, database integration and development, testing and quality control, server management, and architectural design. Experience with MS Power Platform development is also required.

In this role, the Senior Programmer Analyst will collaborate closely with the development team and business stakeholders to optimize business operations through enterprise systems. The candidate will contribute to the development of new systems, enhance existing applications, and provide ongoing support for software maintenance. Additionally, the role involves assisting with the support of OpenText and Microsoft financial applications.

The successful candidate must have strong communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills, as well as the ability to manage a diverse range of projects effectively. Flexibility and adaptability are essential in this dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build custom web applications using Visual Studio, following technical specifications and designs.
  • Develop stored procedures to integrate applications with databases, ensuring seamless data flow.
  • Create and implement solutions using the Microsoft Power Platform to streamline business processes.
  • Lead efforts in gathering and analyzing project requirements and create detailed functional requirement specifications.
  • Operate in an Agile development environment, contributing to sprint planning and delivering timely results.
  • Design and implement rich, user-friendly web interfaces as well as develop server-side functionality based on object-oriented design principles to ensure scalability and maintainability.
  • Recommend, plan, and execute improvements and upgrades for existing web applications to enhance performance and functionality.
  • Actively participate in daily stand-up meetings to ensure proper communication and collaboration across teams.
  • Conduct unit and system testing focused on specific features, ensuring quality and reliability of applications. Contribute to user acceptance testing, as well as performance and
  • load testing, and assist in issue identification and remediation.
  • Interface with customers to provide group and individual support and training, ensuring effective communication of project status and escalation of issues as needed.
  • Coach and support users as necessary to ensure they understand how to use our custom applications as well as troubleshooting any issues a user may encounter.
  • Help share your existing knowledge and skills in technologies and methodologies new to the team through training or personal guidance.
  • Acquire new or grow existing skills through additional third-party training courses or conferences.
  • Monitor and upgrade the development environment and tools used by the team, such as DevOps or VS, by conducting compatibility research and testing as well as final upgrade implementation.
  • Create, edit, and revise technical documentation for new and existing custom applications, such as project requirement documentation and architectural diagrams, mockups, release notes, and user manuals.
  • Participate in screening and interviewing potential candidates for any additional open positions as needed.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
    • 5-7 years of ASP. NET, MS SQL Server, and MS Power Platform development experience
    • Solid understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) and current design patterns/practices.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Development Tools: DevOps, Visual Studio, SSMS, SSRS.
    • Deep hands-on knowledge of: VB.NET, C# and ASP.NET.
    • Extensive experience writing stored procedures and functions in SQL Server.
    • Hands on design and development experience with MS Power Platform.
    • Experience with technologies including JavaScript, CSS, AJAX, XML and jQuery.
    • Understanding of relational database (SQL Server) design.
    • Experience with API development and Integration with 3rd party APIs.
    • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills as well as excellent customer service, and problem-solving skills
    • Mobile app development experience is a plus
