- Create and maintain an architecture that covers the entire business application solution aligned with the business strategy.
- Focus on the creation of a secure and nimble environment, characterized by flexibility, scalability, reliability, resiliency, availability, extendibility and cost effectiveness.
- Ensure holistic architecture design by appropriately integrating other key architectural disciplines (business, security, data, infrastructure) and collaboration into the overall solution.
- Responsible for communicating the business application solution vision through the creation and syndication of an architectural blueprint depicting the current environment, the proposed environment and a transition plan of how to reach the desired state.
- Ensure best practice, adherence to standards, and reliability. Uses sophisticated analytical thought to exercise judgment and identify innovative solutions.
- Mentors less experienced teammates to build technical expertise.
- Design and communicate the enterprise application architectural vision necessary to meet business needs. Complete the necessary review processes or assessments to ensure the architecture vision is delivered.
- Lead the identification, planning, creation and oversight of sound application architecture frameworks, guidelines, patterns, and standards for use across the enterprise to influence application architecture decision-making and consistency.
- Responsible for the creation and implementation of the appropriate review processes to identify potential architectural issues early in the development/procurement cycle for the purpose of steering the proposed solution towards a sound architectural conclusion. This includes development of required artifacts.
- Identify and drive application architecture consolidation and optimization opportunities, including integration of emerging technologies and business capabilities.
- Perform approved proof-of-concepts to “test” technology and business application capabilities and provide recommendations to senior management regarding future use within the organization.
Requirements
- Must have a Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering or related technical field.
- Must have 8 years of progressive experience in software engineering or IT consulting positions performing/utilizing the following:
- Knowledge of current and emerging application architecture principles, methodologies and tools
- Negotiating with vendors for relevant products and services
- Demonstrated competency in strategic thinking with ability to differentiate feasible from academic solutions
- Translating high-level business planning information into application needs/solution
- Maintaining a high-level of awareness and understanding of existing and emerging technologies, as well as financial services industry and Bank issues in order to recommend and effectively influence the utilization of the appropriate technologies to solve for business challenges and enable business optimization and growth.
- Utilizing experience with: AWS Cloud Services, Azure Cloud Services, Terraform, Python, Splunk, Networking, DNS, REST APIs, Docker, DevOps, and Linux.
- Position may be eligible to work hybrid/remotely but is based out of and reports to Truist offices in Atlanta, GA. Must be available to travel to Atlanta, GA regularly for meetings and reviews with manager and project teams within 24-hours’ notice.
