Job Summary:

Superior Optimization is seeking a skilled and innovative SCADA specialist to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, installing, and configuring SCADA systems for industrial applications, along with setting up communication networks.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Design, install and configure SCADA systems for various industrial applications.
• Design and configure communication network infrastructure.
• Design and program real-time database applications and reporting formats.
• Configure and program operator interface screens within SCADA software platforms.
• Troubleshoot and resolve system issues and provide technical support to clients and internal teams.
• Perform system upgrades and modifications as required to ensure optimal system performance.
• Conduct system testing and validation to ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Assist with the process of configuring instrumentation, verifying communications back to the website.
• Commission the instrumentation equipment, technology, and devices into the polling engine, and building it on related instrumentation and control systems so that live values are updated properly and to the customer’s satisfaction.
• Commission or troubleshoot any dispatched sites or new installs.
• Troubleshoot issues on any hardware in the field.
• Identify and recommend potential value-add or Superior Optimization assisted troubleshooting, repairs, calibrations, warranty, installations, among others. 

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Bachelor’s degree or certificate in industrial, electrical, electronic, instrumentation engineering or computer sciences, or the equivalent in education/work experience.
• 25% travel is required.
• Proven experience as a SCADA specialist or in a similar role.
• Proficient in programming languages commonly used in industrial automation, such as ladder logic and structured text.
• Strong knowledge of PLC programming and industrial automation software.
• Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to writing efficient and maintainable code.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Experience with VT SCADA is an asset.
