Purpose Statement

The CIP Operator will be responsible for sanitizing theproduction areas & utensils using chemicals and equipment per FDA guidelines.

Key Accountabilities and Outcomes

  • Disassembles and sets up all production equipment
  • Cleans all equipment using COP and CIP systems
  • Verifies the proper cleaning and set-up of all equipment
  • Puts away production and sanitation materials
  • Drives material handling equipment
  • Monitors/tests chemical concentration of all CIP systems
  • Maintains CIP SCADA database with real-time process data
  • Uses and completes data uploads, SSOP task completions, EMP tasks and other digital applications via a handheld table type device or a computer terminal
  • Documents necessary information on charts and CIP logs
  • Takes inventory of sanitation supplies
  • Partners with Quality's use of bioluminescence technology to verify CIP systems.
  • Responsible for performing tasks according to the plant Master Sanitation Schedule in Kleanz and Internal GMP audits
  • Responsible for basic troubleshooting of all Sanitation equipment
  • Responsible for safe handling of all Sanitation tools, chemicals and processes
  • Trains new Associates on required skill sets for Environmental Operations
  • Maintains work area in a safe and orderly fashion according to GMP and Safety guidelines
  • Operates Rich's SCADA system and completes appropriate paperwork
  • Performs any other related miscellaneous duties assigned by Lead person
  • Required to accurately and fully communicate and document tasks, corrective actions, status updates and other vital information to appropriate Leaders and co-Associates
  • Will be required to train in other areas of the plant as required by the Skillblock program, which may include: Valve and Pump PM program.

FOOD SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Follow all GMP's, food safety, and quality policies.
  • Ensures all GMP and all Food hygiene and Food safety standards are in compliance.
  • Report all food safety incidents such as GMP violations, ingredient and product contamination, metal detector, screen, or magnet deficiencies, glass breakage, and pest harborage.
  • Review food defense and quality records for precision, accuracy, and conformance to document control procedures, providing written verification as required.
  • Ensure employee compliance in the areas of food defense, food regulations, and product / process quality; provide adequate coaching as needed.
  • Provide immediate and long-term corrective action in the event of non-compliance to food defense and quality policies.
  • Record accurate and legible results on documentation.
  • Always provide adequate housekeeping.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required plus 1+ years of relevant (chemical handling and machine operation) experience preferred
  • Must have good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Must have the ability to train other Associates in Sanitation/Environmental operations
  • Must have the desire and ability to operate as a member of a Self-Directed work team
  • Must become proficient on Rich's SCADA system
  • Has an awareness of and the ability to follow Associate Safety guidelines
  • Has an awareness of and the ability to follow GMP and Food Safety guidelines
  • Understands proper machine operating and adjusting procedures
  • Must have the ability to work in and contribute to Production Improvement, Associate Involvement and Temporary Teams, as assigned

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The physical capabilities an associate must have to perform the essential functions of this position are:

  • Moderate to high degree of physical activity
  • Continuous standing and frequent walking
  • Frequent stair/ladder climbing
  • Somewhat frequent kneeling, crouching, bending
  • Works in wet environment
  • Works in high noise area
  • Works with potentially hazardous chemicals
  • May handle potentially hazardous equipment
  • Requires lifting not to exceed 55 lbs.
