JOB SUMMARY:
Perform the task of driving rivets along a production line using air hammers. Completion of manufacturing tasks involving air powered hand tools such as; air powered drills, hammers, and rivet guns in a production environment.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Able to read production orders
- Fill in for Cell Leader in his/her absence
- Be able to mentor, develop and train new employees
- Be able to drive rivets using air powered tools at a rate of 30 per minute with acceptable quality
- Will use vibratory tools consistently throughout the entire shift
- Will work on elevated platforms frequently throughout the shift
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Notify Cell Leaders when issues arise
- Operate within standard operating procedures and job safety analysis
- Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
- Attend daily safety department meetings
- Ability to drive rivets a full shift plus any overtime hours
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
EDUCATION, SKILLS, & OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent G.E.D.
- Must pass criminal background check, drug screen, and Blue Bird physical
- Experience using air powered tools to drive rivets at a rate of 30 per minute with acceptable quality
- Ability to perform repetitive work during a shift
- Must pass Production Order Test, Writing Test, and Rivet Driving Test with air powered tools with speed and precision.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Work in manufacturing environment with exposure to heat, cold, noise, and fumes
- Perform repetitive work
- Fast-paced environment with moving objects, sharp edges, and congested working areas
- Will be stooping, crouching, pushing, pulling, kneeling, reaching overhead, grasping, and lifting up to 50 pounds
PERFORMANCE CRITERIA:
- Must meet established quality and production standards, perform any rivet driving jobs, and pass no defects to the next station
- Practice good housekeeping
- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Must meet established attendance policy and work overtime when required
- Must perform other duties and tasks as assigned by supervisor
