Responsibilities:- Work with OGC to coordinate and execute projects designed to manage and reduce risk for the firm and its clients.
- Support the Matter Intake Process by assisting in the review of client requirements.
- Provide administrative assistance to the OGC, including maintaining files related to risk management and compliance functions. Help Information Governance Manager identify, track, and mitigate risk related to firm and client information, perform audits of systems that support the storage, management, and governance of client information, and assist with various IG processes, such as complying with record retention requirements.
- Exercise good judgement in ensuring firm policies and procedures are followed and understand how ethical, legal and client obligations impact the storage, organization, and transfer of data in a global environment.
- Identify opportunities to promote and increase document management system usage, security and compliance across the firm.
- Keep abreast of new trends and technologies that relate to sharing information and collaborating internally and with firm clients.
- Assist with organizational and administrative tasks as required by OGC.
- Assist in documentation of OGC and firm policies and procedures.
- Upon request, open and close OGC matters, prepare closed OGC matter files for off-site storage, and retrieve them.
- Organizes and label, as needed, and file hard copy and electronic records relating to OGC and client matters.
- Two-year certificate from college and at least two years of law office clerical or general office experience.
- Strong attention to detail along with excellent spelling and grammar.
- Ability to learn and adopt new technology quickly. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite 365 (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.) is required; proficiency with Relativity preferred.
- Good planning, organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to use all firm provided software packages as required; willing to learn practice or department specific databases or software as necessary.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
