We are seeking an entry level technician to join our NIH-sponsored Animal Phenotyping Core within the Michigan Mouse Metabolic Phenotyping Center (MMPC-Live).

Responsibilities*
This candidate will be responsible for carrying out in-vivo and in-vitro physiology/pharmacology experiments in rodent models of metabolic disorders. He/she will be accountable for evaluating metabolic phenotypes in mice or rats, specifically for assessment of whole-body glucose and lipid metabolism using 3H- and 14C- labeled tracers and performing behavioral tests. This individual should have some hands-on experience in handling of rodents, including feeding, dosing, and performing husbandry.
The candidate will work closely with the lab manager and senior lab members to conduct research projects, collect data, and analyze results, and provide support for day-to-day housekeeping of the laboratory, experimental scheduling, and maintenance records of study protocol/equipment/facility, etc.
Required Qualifications*
- BS degree in biology or related discipline is required.
- A strong work ethic, excellent oral and written English communication skills, and the ability to work in teams are essential.
- Being able to work on occasional weekends will be required
Work Schedule
M-F, 8 hour/days, with some weekends as needed.

Background Screening
