This cluster services the following units:

6D: Critical Care Medicine Unit (CCMU)
7DN: Cardiac ICU (CICU)
Cardiovascular ICU (CV-ICU)
Trauma-Burn ICU (TBICU)

Hourly range for Registered Nurses $40.18-$62.31/ hour ***CSR RN's will receive an additional hourly differential of $2.50/hour and will not be required to work holidays
Evening Shift Differential-$3.00 / hour

Day Shift Weekend Differential- $2.90 / hour
Evening Shift Weekend Differential- $5.90 / hour

Responsibilities*
Responsibilities of the Adult Critical Care Cluster
To provide safe and effective nursing care as assigned to patients in each of the 7 Adult Intensive Care Units. This includes caring for patients in the Trauma Burn, Neuro-Surgical, Cardiovascular Surgery, Surgical, Medical, and Cardiac Intensive care unit, and Intermediate care units.
This will include caring for patients with multiple types of illnesses and disease processes that require both physiologic monitoring and intensive nursing care. These patients often require ventilartory support, hemodynamic monitoring, intracranial pressure monitoring, and fluid and electrolyte corrections, parenteral or enteral nutrition and use of multiple cardiac agents and vasopressive drips. Staff must actively participate as a member of the healthcare team in each of these critical care units. Staff must work closely with patients and families in each area to serve as both the critical care nurse as well as the patient/family advocate.

Salary & Nursing Framework Level:
This UMPNC RN posting is posted as Nursing Framework LEVEL C.
Actual Nursing Framework LEVEL and salary will be determined at time of hire.
Nursing Framework levels range from Level A to Level F.
Required qualifications must be met by the candidate in order to be interviewed and considered for the position. Posting may be filled after the initial 5-day posting period. Applicants who have left the UMPNC bargaining unit must include on their resume dates of past employment including months and years of service along with effort. Positions less than 20 hours/week may be combined.
Required Qualifications*
Current Michigan Registered Nurse License.
Two (2) or more years experience (within the past three (3) years) in the ICU arena of a Level 1 or 2 hospital as a Registered Nurse.
Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification (ACLS)
Must be able to pass the CSR EKG exam with at least an 80%

Ability to demonstrate problem solving skills.
Candidates must demonstrate the ability to be accountable and dependable as evidenced by completion of mandatories and unit based competencies.
Experience floating to multiple units helpful.
CCRN certified.
Familiarity with Microsoft office and GroupWise also helpful.
BSN preferred.
Work Schedule
Hours: 36 hrs per week
Shift: Nights, 12 hour shifts
