The Regional Process Subject Matter Expert will assist our soybean/canola oil processing facilities with improving efficiencies, operational troubleshooting, and capital project design across all oil processing facility locations. This position will follow process design principles and the Bunge Core Values in providing operations support to meet business needs required to keep our facilities competitive. The initial focus of this role will be to lead the design efforts for Project work and then will transition to regional support upon completion of the project.
Main Accountabilities:
- Work with location managers, plan and develop projects for productivity improvement related to Productivity, Quality, Safety and Environment (PQSE) gap closure
- Collaborate with facility management to define technical needs and CapEx requirements, recommend CapEx projects, evaluate CapEx proposals for technical viability, assist with development of the project presentations, and support throughout CapEx construction activitie
- Identify productivity improvement opportunities at BNA oil processing locations.
- Identify, promote, and coordinate implementation of best practices across all facilities and assist facilities with problem-solving and troubleshooting operational problems
- Assist facilities and Manufacturing Excellence Team with Bunge global best practices for processing and Global equipment standards.
- Assist facilities with assessments of vendors, contractors, and consulting engineers.
- Assist facilities with OEM equipment evaluations.
- Coordinate with local plant management on safe operations and team development as needed
- Coordinate with local plant management on environmental regulatory compliance issues as needed
- Interface effectively with other departments such as commercial, safety, accounting, legal, environmental, engineering, QA/QC, and procurement to assist with optimal execution of business needs
- Assist as necessary with process reviews and process developments
- Assist with review of production data routinely to ensure accuracy and to analyze for improvements throughout the oil processing facilities.
- Understand and review production data on a regular basis
- Assist Process Safety Management Manager with routine Process Safety Management Travel, sometime with extended stays, to refine facilities throughout the US and Canada as required.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or applicable related field or >10 yrs of industrial experience required.
- Minimum 5 years of extensive edible oil processing operations experience required
- Extensive soybean/canola processing operational experiences in a broad range of climate conditions required.
- Oilseed industry knowledge of safety policies regarding facilities required.
- OSHA PSM program experience desired.
- Ability to travel approximately 50% of the time on average with periods of higher on-site presence at key milestones through Project work
