Who We Are

The primary mission of the Mary A. Rackham Institute (MARI) is to help build fulfilling lives through (1) serving the university and broader community with compassionate, evidence-based services for mental health, language, and literacy concerns and (2) providing outstanding training and education.

MARI is housed within the Rackham Graduate School and is comprised of three centers, the Psychological Clinic (Psych Clinic), which provides psychotherapy and evaluation services to adults, the University Center for the Child and the Family (UCCF), which provides psychotherapy and evaluation services to youth and families, and the University Center for Language and Literacy (UCLL), which provides language and literacy evaluations and intervention services to youth and adults.

The Psych Clinic is a multidisciplinary adult mental health clinic located on the University of Michigan campus. The clinic provides individual therapy, couples therapy, group therapy, and testing services to students, staff, and faculty at the University of Michigan as well as members of the local community and southeast Michigan. Consistent with its primary missions of clinical service and training, the Psychological Clinic offers multidisciplinary training opportunities. We participate in the APPIC and APA-accredited psychology internship match, provide practicum training for clinical psychology graduate students, Post-Doctoral and Post-MSW fellowships, U-M School of Social Work internship field placements, and undergraduate internship opportunities.
