Full Job Description

Who We Are

BCG is looking for a Project Leader consultant to join our Raleigh-Durham office to help our Health Care clients take on their most difficult challenges and create innovative strategies for growth. Qualified individuals will play a critical role in enriching project work in the Health Care industry and in bringing forward-thinking solutions to our clients. Ideal candidates will have previous management consulting experience and demonstrated leadership in growing client relations, people and knowledge development.

Practice Area

"Inspiring the bold who advance the health of care." BCG's global Health Care team works across the health care ecosystem to deliver sustainable competitive advantage for our clients, to create value for society, and to improve outcomes for patients. And we are passionate about it. We are committed to developing new insights and, through our customized approach, helping organizations navigate rapid change in today's digital world. Our global health care team serves top companies across the health care industry - including biopharmaceuticals, medical technologies and devices, health care providers, payers, services, and global health. BCG's Health Care Practice is the third largest industry practice globally, and second in the US.

What You'll Do

Project Leaders play a key role on client engagements, managing studies to define client needs and supervising research activities to obtain relevant data. Project Leaders oversee the formulation of hypotheses for research and investigation, and the advanced financial analysis of client, competitor, and industry data. They apply knowledge of business principles and industrial organization, develop actionable recommendations, and supervise work including strategic due diligence, product development studies, change management plans, and the evaluation of long-term investment opportunities. Project Leaders are also responsible for managing client contact and play a key role in the development and maintenance of high-level client relationships.

What You'll Bring

  • 3 to 5+ years of post-graduate school consulting experience, with 1+ years at a team lead level.
  • Demonstrated expertise across the Health Care industry, experience with Contract Research Organizations (CRO) preferred.
  • Track record of collaboration with senior executives. Must be comfortable delivering formal presentations to management.
  • Strong management and communication skills. The ability to bring together all stakeholders and persuade senior clients to take action is essential.
  • Strong analytical skills and a high capacity for conceptual thinking. Ability to develop leading edge business models, frameworks for analysis, and long-term business strategies that maximize shareholder value. Must be able to thrive in a hypothesis-based environment where inductive rather than deductive reasoning is the norm.
  • Proven ability to manage client engagements, client relationships, and provide "thought leadership" to teams, owning the responsibility for the quality of engagements.
  • A combination of management and "hands on" delivery experience is critical.
  • A solid track record of building strong client relationships with large organizations, as well as identifying opportunities to deepen those relationships and grow the business.
  • Technical degree is nice to have but not required.
  • A degree from a top-tier institution preferred.

Who You'll Work With

Working alongside some of the world's top minds on cases that reshape business, government and society, you will increase your understanding of complex business problems from diverse perspectives and develop new skills. At the same time, you'll partner with senior clients, taking on the role of trusted advisor, and work at all levels of the client organization to find and execute value creation strategies that result in meaningful, enduring impact.
