Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Software Product Manager to join our growing team within the Vivint Technology organization. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the full lifecycle of our enterprise software solutions, from ideation and strategic planning to execution and delivery. You’ll bring a deep understanding of enterprise software and the unique needs of large organizations, helping to translate these needs into innovative, scalable solutions.

As a key contributor to our product team, you’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, sales, marketing, and customer support, to ensure our software meets the high demands of our enterprise clients. You'll drive product development, define features, ensure scalability, and manage relationships with business partners.

Your work will directly shape an exceptional customer experience that sets us apart in the market. You’ll identify areas for improvement, develop and maintain a product roadmap, and partner with engineering teams to deliver seamless software solutions.

We’re looking for a candidate with a strong technology background who is passionate about collaborating with business partners and engineers, improving processes and tools, working with vendors, and driving successful outcomes. You should be highly organized, motivated, and creative, with a proven ability to manage complex products.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Product Strategy & Roadmap: Develop and maintain a product roadmap that prioritizes features and enhancements based on customer needs, market trends, and business goals.
  • Requirements and User Stories: Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into clear and concise user stories. Work closely with software engineering teams to break down projects into actionable tasks to ensure successful execution.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Foster strong partnerships with business partners, software engineering teams, design teams, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure effective collaboration and alignment throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • User Experience Enhancement: Continuously evaluate and enhance the user experience of your product by job shadowing, conducting user research, gathering feedback, and iterating on product features and functionalities.
  • Performance Monitoring and Analysis: Monitor the performance of your products, track relevant metrics, and conduct data-driven analysis to identify opportunities for improvement and optimization.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Drive planning and vision refinement sessions with business and engineering teams
  • Drive strategic discussions on product features and functionality requests
  • Drive relevant product management deliverables and facilitate effective user/customer conversations
  • Leverage best practices for Product Management in your day-to-day
  • Define user stories/experience to determine feature efficacy
  • Transform requirements into feature specifics/user stories
  • Determine priorities on feature specifics/user stories
  • Establish story acceptance criteria for the engineering/development team
  • Actively address ambiguity and change in the product backlog
  • Present convincingly to leadership, partners, and users/customers
  • Define and monitor progress on KPIs driving product success
  • Manage product roadmap based on product vision

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Ability to clearly communicate across levels of the organization and departments in writing, orally and interpersonally
  • Strong meeting facilitation, communication, and presentation skills
  • Lead by influence without direct authority
  • Effective problem solving and analytical skills
  • Effective storytelling and presentation skills. You’re able to define a plan and rally the team behind it
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and manage priorities, including multiple products
  • Proven ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Decisive, and able to eloquently defend your decisions

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Customer Focus: Deep understanding of customer needs and a passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences. Experience in conducting user research, gathering feedback, and implementing user-centered design principles is a plus.
  • Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to gather and interpret data to drive decision-making and prioritize initiatives.
  • Experience: 4+ years of experience in software product management, ideally with a focus on enterprise tools
  • Communication and Collaboration: Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and build relationships with, in order to influence, collaborate with, and negotiate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Experience working in cross-functional teams is highly desirable.
  • Technical Background: Strong understanding of software development processes and methodologies. Familiarity with web technologies, APIs, and system integrations.
  • Adaptability and Initiative: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, adapt to changing priorities, and take the initiative to drive projects forward.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
