Role Purpose Statement :
Bunge has an outstanding opportunity for individuals to join the Bunge Safety team as an Process Safety Trainee. This position will support development, update, implementation, and sustainment of Process Safety Management (PSM) programs and PSM related programs at sites across US and Canada. Typical PSM covered processes include oilseed extraction with hexane and other solvents, ammonia refrigeration, hydrogenation and other chemical processes.
PSM related programs include processes with less than PSM regulated quantities and facilities with the potential to generate combustible dust from grain and grain products.
Main Accountabilities:
Maintain and assist development of systems to ensure all areas of the BNA sites comply to the process safety elements of OSHA 1910.119 process safety standard.
- These include the following elements: Process Safety Information, Process Hazard Analysis
- Operating Procedures, Operator Training
- Management of Change, Pre-Start up Safety Review
- Mechanical Integrity
- Become certified to lead Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) across various BNA Plants
- Contribute to formal investigations for process safety incidents
- Assist continuous improvement initiatives for PSM program elements
- Assist capital planning process to ensure long-term process safety risks are addressed
- Assist/lead training initiatives for Plant Process Engineers and Trainees
- Assist/lead in the development and collection of KPI data in order to track plant PSM performance
Knowledge and Skills:
- B. S Degree in Chemical Engineering with 0 + years process engineering experience in manufacturing
- Strong process engineering skills, with an emphasis on troubleshooting and process improvement
- Strong data management and organizational skills utilizing Microsoft office
- Experience in oilseed processing is desirable
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 50% of the time
