Position Summary:

Responsible for trackingplant performance parameters, coordinating appropriate testing to determine root cause of problems, providing system or equipment performance testing, project management (Capital & Expense) and recommending appropriate, cost-effective solutions to correct problems and/or improve efficiency.

Engineer Level will be based on skills and experience of the successful candidate.

Essential Duties/ Responsibilities:

  • Perform and/orcoordinate engineering design modifications.
  • Project lead onsite level activities which includes generating, developing, and executingprojects.
  • Perform as aProject Manager for projects as assigned.
  • Provideengineering analysis, inspections and support to operations to keep equipment running atmaximum reliability and performance levels whilemaintaining personnel safety, asset safety and environmental compliance, review andanalyze predictive and preventive maintenance data.
  • Monitor unitand equipment efficiency. Identify and troubleshoot deviations from expectedvalues to improve unit performance.
  • Makerecommendations on reducing operational and maintenance expenses
  • Assist in long range planning for maintenance, repair and capital improvementprojects.
  • Ensureappropriate operating permits are maintained.
  • Stay abreast ofdevelopments in theenergy industry and recommend modifications.
  • Lead performance tests, equipment performance monitoring and trending.
  • Lead, direct, or conduct inspections to support maintenance planning and operational risk
  • Compile andanalyze operating data and help develop operational plans and equipmentrecommendations to optimize facility performance and profitability.
  • Assist in thedevelopment of various operations and data reports for internal andexternal distribution.
  • Support developing elements of the annual operations and maintenance budgets based upon knowledge of inspection, reliability plans and PM requirements.
  • Work closelywith operations to optimize and improve unit performance and operations.
  • Support theestablishment and enforcement of safe working conditions and practice safe work habits in all activities.
  • Coordinates activities with Vendors/Contractors, other divisions and departments
  • Develops and maintains technical specifications for the purchase of replacement parts, vendor repairs, and maintenance standards
  • Identifies and implements new or existing repair technology in the areasof responsibility
  • Ensures company resources are used in a cost-effective manner.

Working Conditions:

  • Both normal office and out of doors work environment. This could include working at heights, high/low ambient temperatures, and wet, dirty and high humidity areas; will also include work in confined spaces.
  • Work overtime and non-standard hours as required to support plant.
  • May be required to work around rotating and energized equipment, hazardous materials and chemicals.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor Degreein Engineering from an accredited University or 10 years equivalent power plant experience.
  • Requires valid Driver's License.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Mechanical Engineering degree preferred.
  • 5 years of engineering experience in power or industrial facilities preferred.

Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Basic knowledge of power plant systems and operation consistent with level of responsibility.
  • Excellentquantitative skills.
  • Proficient in the use of PC, and Windows & Microsoft Office applications with particular emphasis on spreadsheets, scheduling, equipment performance and word processing programs.
  • Superiorinterpersonal and Team building skills.
  • Effective communication skills with craft personnel, site leadership, as well as management.
  • Proven planningand organizational skills.
  • Project management skills.
  • Familiarity with modern CMMS process and systems.
  • Ability to learnquickly and work under pressure.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing requirements and quickly bringassignments to completion.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment and to identify problems and solutions without constant guidance.
  • Uses discretion concerning confidential and sensitive company information.

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires standing, sitting, walking, kneeling, twisting, climbing stairs and ladders, and entering plant equipment to access, inspect and/or collect data on plant equipment.
  • Use of PPE (Personnel Protective Equipment), which may include safety glasses, hard hat, protective footwear, ear plugs, gloves, safety harness, respirator, etc.
  • May require lifting as appropriate to perform duties and responsibilities.

Please Note: Salary offered will be commensurate with the successful candidate's education and/or experience and consistent with the job location's market pay rate.
