About the Peer Leader (PL) Program
Peer-to-peer mentorship is a cornerstone of career support at UVM – helping students get connected, gain experience, and build their networks. The Peer Leader (PL) Program engages 10-15 student staff as interns making our space more approachable and more effective. In addition to hosting drop-ins, reviewing resumes, supporting events, and adding a student-voice to our marketing, Peers engage in meaningful project work aligned with their competency development goals.
About the PL Program Manager Position
This position manages all aspects of the PL Program from recruitment and training to supervision and project management. Additionally, the PL Program Manager does some career coaching and supports departmental events and projects. Like all Career Center staff, the PL Program Manager uplifts our inclusive excellence goals and works in support of the mission, vision, and values of the Center, the Division of Academic Affairs & Student Success, and the University. Specifically, we value ?being caring?, innovative?, integrative?, and to pursue social?justice and excellence in all we do.
Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years relevant experience required. Proficiency in program development, supervision, communication, project management, problem solving, and effective collaboration essential. Must be skilled in coaching, knowledgable about employment tools, and familiar with basic career development theory. Seeking candidates facile with office technology and social media. Successful candidates are able to work respectfully on a diverse, productive, and innovative team. Demonstrated commitment to fostering an inclusive environment a must. Occasional evening and weekend hours.
