The mission of the Department of Chemical Sciences is to create and maintain an environment for both students and faculty to advance their understanding of chemistry guided by the highest standards in teaching and learning, scientific inquiry, and community service. Of highest priority is the success and growth of students for successful careers in industry, government, or education, and as knowledgeable and responsible citizens of the world. The department strives to achieve its goals by providing quality education and high-impact practices to our students. These include engaged student learning, hands-on experience on the use of modern instruments, engagement in collaborative research with faculty, opportunities for directed study and internships, community outreach, and support for professional development of faculty and students. Successful candidates will be faculty members that can work with their colleagues to help meet the mission of the department of Chemical Sciences in serving and supporting our racially and ethnically diverse campus community.

Essential Duties
The Department of Chemical Sciences at Bridgewater State University seeks qualified Part-Time Faculty for the 2022/2025 academic year, who are enthusiastic teachers and dedicated to working with undergraduates.The successful candidate may be expected to teach laboratory sections in our Principles of Chemistry I/II (CHEM 141L/142L), Survey of Chemistry I/II (CHEM 131L/132L), and/or Organic Chemistry I/II (CHEM 243L/244L) course sequences. The candidate may also have an opportunity to teach lectures in CHEM 131/132 or Chemistry in Everyday Life (CHEM 102).
Candidates must demonstrate sensitivity to and understanding of students from diverse backgrounds with a wide range of abilities.
Required Qualifications
Master's degree or higher in Chemical Sciences or related field required.Excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to teaching in an undergraduate setting are required.
Candidates must also demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching and advising that enhances an environment of equity, diversity and inclusion.
Preferred Qualifications
Teaching experience and Ph.D. preferred.Special Conditions for Eligibility
