The Department of Public Works is seeking a Night Watchman who values both security and customer service. In this important role, you’ll help safeguard our facilities while maintaining clear, helpful communication with the public and your team.
As a Night Watchman, your responsibilities will include:
· Making regular patrols to ensure everything is safe from fires, theft, vandalism, and other issues.
· Answering phone calls professionally, documenting the nature of each call, and providing accurate information or assistance as needed.
· Contacting standby personnel or notifying supervisors in case of emergencies.
· Performing light clerical duties, such as reviewing and responding to emails or performing data entry.
This role requires strong customer service skills, as you’ll be the point of contact for incoming calls and inquiries during your shift. You’ll also need to exercise independent judgment when handling minor decisions, contributing to both the security and smooth operation of our facilities.
The hours for this position are Monday through Friday, 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM, with occasional flexibility to fill in other shifts. This is a fully benefited position, with a pay range of $20.11 - $25.04 per hour, depending on experience.
