Job Title: Network Engineer
Job Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire
Location: Hybrid with various sites within state of MD (Glen Burnie HQ)
Compensation: $145,000/yr

Network Engineer
Responsibilities:

Design, implement, and support LAN, WLAN, and WAN network infrastructure
Serve as technical escalation point
Create and maintain technical and process documentation
Troubleshoot infrastructure related hardware or network connectivity issues
Perform testing and validation of new hardware and code
Create maintenance plans and documentation as part of change control to implement network changes in LAN, WLAN, and WAN infrastructure
Conduct site surveys for future wired and wireless network installation
Provide consultation support to internal and external partners for network infrastructure design and enhancements
Prepare network hardware and configurations
Install new equipment as part of a new deployment, break/fix, or equipment refreshes
Troubleshoot and resolve network related trouble tickets
Coordinate with both internal and external partners as part of overall project delivery efforts
Provide written status updates to project management for assigned

Must Haves – Required Education, Certifications, Skills, and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering related field
9 years of experience in a computer related field OR Equivalent Experience
JNCIA or CCNA
Experience in production network environments
Experience in the configuration and deployment of Cisco, Juniper, and Aruba switches, routers, and wireless access points
Previous experience with troubleshooting and configuration of network protocols such as BGP, OSPF, TCP/IP, and Spanning Tree
Experience with network monitoring and diagnostic tools
Experience with the creation and maintenance of documentation such as operating procedures and network diagrams
Strong customer service skills
Strong technical troubleshooting skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong time, priority, and task management skills
Ability to manage multiple assigned tasks concurrently with minimal supervision
Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Nice to Haves – Desired Education, Certifications, Skills, and Experience:

ITIL 4 Foundation
Python and Ansible experience
Previous experience with Metro Ethernet networks and infrastructure
Familiarity with enterprise and user networks
