Merchandise Planner
Position Overview
The Merchandise Planner is responsible for developing and executing merchandise strategies that align with company goals. This role involves analyzing sales trends, managing inventory levels, and collaborating with various teams to optimize product assortment and maximize profitability. This role is a fully onsite (5 days a week) in Tyler, Texas. This client does offer a relocation bonus.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement merchandise planning strategies based on sales forecasts and trends.
- Manage inventory levels to ensure optimal product availability while minimizing excess stock.
- Analyze sales data and KPIs to make informed planning decisions.
- Collaborate with buying and merchandising teams to align product assortment with customer needs.
- Prepare reports and presentations to communicate insights and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Monitor sales performance and adjust strategies as necessary to achieve financial goals.
- Participate in cross-functional meetings to drive process improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Retail Management, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in merchandise planning or inventory management in a retail environment.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools.
- Experience with forecasting and analyzing sales trends.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Familiarity with BI tools and Jesta is a plus.
In this position, you may have access to client or customer systems, confidential and/or proprietary information or data. This position is onsite and requires you to work closely with other individuals in a collaborative team environment.
